Appraisal

Appraisal is defined as the function of estimating the monetary value of real, personal, or intangible property. Appraisals are usually performed by a person or company that is recognized as an expert or who has obtained certification to perform the service of an appraisal. Appraisalsare commonly performed when valuing real estate, personal property, and businesses either whole or in part including the company assets.

There are different types of values to consider when conducting an appraisal. Asset Value appraisals determine the total value of fixed assets plus intangible assets, and disregards current assets, liabilities, and other balance sheet items. The net present value is the amount of cash flow that is generated or the value of the item to the particular user. The market value is the price that an asset would trade for in an auction. Whether for personal or business valuation purposes, there are many factors that affect the value of a particular asset. This is why appraisals are best left to professionals.

Machinery Appraisals .Machinery is more than a production tool; it’s an asset, a critical part of a business financial management plan. SurplusEQ Valuation services (DVS) appraises a wide array of machinery in more than 80 industry segments from metalworking to circuit board manufacturing to paper mills to textile mills. This comprehensive expertise guarantees customers ultimate flexibility when scheduling complex projects and ensures staffing by professionals with in-depth industry experience. On-site inspections are thorough, asset descriptions are complete and reporting is solid, with every appraisal meeting or exceeding strict professional and regulatory standards.

Inventory Appraisals. Inventory is the life-blood of a company. The effective management of this resource often means the difference between profit and loss, growth and survival. DVS can help companies increase profitability by assisting them in improving efficiency, understanding the value of individual product lines and managing appropriate stock levels during periods of growth or contraction. Lower of cost or market studies performed by DVS contrast internal performance with the competitive marketplace, while build-out analyses improve inventory balance and the timeliness of shipments. The ability to appraise inventory that is part of complex manufacturing operations, as well as finished goods marketed through wholesale and retail distribution, is an important and dynamic strength of DVS. Recognizing that every inventory is a unique extension of the business itself, DVS takes great care in the analysis to understand the factors that make it distinct.

Real Estate Appraisals. Real estate is a foundation asset of many businesses and DVS has the expertise to appraise a wide variety of real property improvements. Skilled professionals with years of experience prepare real estate appraisals of demonstrated accuracy. The precision of the conclusions is driven by firsthand-confirmed market investigation and real world analysis. Every appraisal meets or exceeds industry standards and takes into account the use that provides the highest economic return to the property.
