The FSS25-050-120 FiberTool fusion splice protection sleeves are 25mm length, with a 0.5mm diameter strength member for ensuring the bare glass of the splice point is sufficiently protected from bending. The post shrink diameter of these sleeves is 1.2mm. The splice tray used for holding these sleeves will need to accommodate the 1.2mm post shrink diameter size. Our splice protection sleeves are sold in bags of 100.

The thermo shrinking type of splice protection sleeves consists of three parts, the outer heat shrinkable tubing, the inner hot melt adhesive tubing and the strength member. Ther inner hot melt adhesive melts and adheres to the fiber and the outer tubing shrinks to completely encaspulate it. The strength member gives mechanical strength to the sleeve preventing bending and allowing the sleeves to be arranged in splicing trays conveniently.
